KONY 2012

So I had originally intended for my next post to be about the Oscars and fashion but this is just too big to wait!!! Invisible Children (my family) started their KONY2012 campaign yesterday buy premiering their newest video explaining who Joseph Kony is and why it is our mission to arrest him and hand him over to the International Criminal Crourts (ICC). Jason Russell, one of the founders, interviews his 4 year old son asking him who Joseph Kony is and what he's been up to. If you couldn't understand why Africa's longest running war needed to end before, hearing it from a 4 year old will defiantly make it clear.

In just 24 hours social media has been going crazy with the news spreading like wildfire! Invisible Children's website was even down for awhile because so many people were logging in. And I don't know about your Facebook thread but every other post is about Joseph Kony, and don't even get me started with Twitter!!!! Paramore, Oprah, Justin Bieber, The Buried Life from MTV, even the Hunger Games Twitter are tweeting about it! 

This is history in the making right now and by the end of this year Joseph Kony will be arrested and tried for the horrors he's caused for a quarter of a century. One of my biggest dreams is slowly coming true and I'm overwhelmed by what is going on with everything. This is absolutely the best week ever! Years of activism, of being in love with a cause, years of ridicule and harassment about not being able to make a difference or being insane,  now I can say, "Dreams do come true, and only the crazy one's can make it happen!"
